Place Saint-Quiriace, 77160 Provins, PROVINS, FRANCE
The town of Provins allegedly dates back to roman times and this tower was long thought to have been built during this period, hence its name.
It was in fact built in the 12th century but town documents indicate that there was a tower there before.
The tower of Caesar was used as watchtower, a prison, and as the last refuge of the town in wartime.
